Cydgan y Morwyr is a male voice chorus Joseph Parry which was composed around 1874 - his first term teaching at Aberystwyth University. Often referred to by the name 'Codwn hwyl' which is its primary refrain, it was very popular for several decades with male voice groups, prompting David Jenking (a prominent contemporary of Parry) to comment that it was "going like fireworks through all the country".
